Es un estratovolc\u00e1n inactivo que se eleva a 5642 m sobre el nivel del mar y es el volc\u00e1n m\u00e1s alto de Eurasia, adem\u00e1s del d\u00e9cimo pico m\u00e1s prominente del mundo. Est\u00e1 situado en la rep\u00fablica de Kabardino-Balkaria, al sur de Rusia, en la extensi\u00f3n occidental de Ciscaucasia, y es el pico m\u00e1s alto de la cordillera del C\u00e1ucaso.<\/p>\n<p>El monte Elbr\u00fas tiene dos cumbres, ambas c\u00fapulas volc\u00e1nicas inactivas. La cumbre m\u00e1s alta est\u00e1 ubicada al oeste y se eleva hasta los 5642 metros; la cumbre del este mide 5621 metros.
